Hanalei Valley can be found on the island of Kaua’i, Hawai’i, United States. Hanalei Valley is a charming site with waterfalls and fields of taro. Taro was grown in Hanalei Valley beginning nearly 1.000 years ago. The taro plant is similar to a large potato. Since ancient times it was used for poi – a staple of the Hawaiian diet.
