If you think a dune is a small pile of sand you’ve definitely never been to Sossusvlei. The dunes there are hundreds of metres high and going up there is like hiking in snowy mountains. Another amazing thing about Sossusvlei is Deadvlei. It used to be an oasis but as it dried up it’s nowadays covered with blackened dead acacia trees. The trees died when the Tsauchab river changed its course.
