Bordeaux is a port city in southwestern France and is home to over 250.000 people. It is also the centre of the region where the famous Bordeaux wine is produced, though, there is no wine production within the city boundaries. Most of the wine produced in the area is red, only a small selection is white. The historic part of the city is listed as UNESCO world heritage site and the origins of Bordeaux date back to 567 BC and the origin of its name is still a mystery with several existing theories.
