Glenorchy is a small town with approximately 360 inhabitants in the South Island of New Zealand. The area around this small town is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and film fans. Films as Lord of the Rings, Vertical Limit and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian were shot in this area. Surrounded by Fiordland National Park and Mount Aspiring National Park it is also a great starting point for gorgeous hikes as Routeburn Track. With Queenstown the next large city is only 45 kilometres away from Glenorchy and can be reached by car as well as by boat via Lake Wakatipu.
