Its official name is “First Narrows Bridge”, but the name most of the people referring to this bridge is “Lions Gate Bridge”. The Lions, however, are a pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver. The bridge was opened in 1938 and has a length of 1.823 metres. Another interesting thing is that this bridge has reversible lanes. This means, that depending on the traffic, more lanes are leading into or out of the city. If the lane is an incoming or an outgoing one is indicated by signals.
