Located on the Mary River in Queensland, Australia, Maryborough is a city with approximately 21.800 inhabitants. Founded in 1847 it is part of an area called Fraser Coast. Maryborough was named after the Mary River which was named after Lady Mary Lennox. Beloved wife of Charles Augustus Fitzroy, Governor of New South Wales between 1790 and 1847. Queenslander architecture is distinctive of this area and the city, especially the Queenslander style residences.
