Point Lobos can be found south of Carmel-by-the-sea, California, United States. Point Lobos includes a State Natural Reserve, a State Marine Reserve and a State Marine Conservation Area. One can find many hiking trails and beaches in this area. The beginnings of the park were the purchase of land by the State of California from Alexander Allen in 1933. Allen himself bought the land to protect it from being developed. The Point Lobos area is geologically unique and rich in plant and wild-life.
