Stampede Trail leads you to the famous Bus 142 also known as Magic Bus. Everyone who knows the book or the movie Into the Wild is aware of the story about Christopher McCandless. As he tried to survive in the Alaskan wilderness the Bus is up to today not easy to reach. On a 30 kilometres one-way hike, you have to cross rivers and wade through mud in summer or through a snowy landscape with iced rivers in winter. If the book or the movie means something to you going to this place should absolutely be on your bucket list. If you are unlucky there is no way to hike there because Teklanika River can be as cruel to you as it was to Christopher. For him, Teklanika River was the one which turned the place of infinite freedom to a carceral in the end.
