Its official name is Stawamus Chief Mountain. However, many people refer to it as Stawamus Chief or even more simple just as The Chief. Its height is 702 metres and therefore ensures great views of its surroundings. The indigenous people from this area, called the Squamish, look at The Chief as a spiritual place.
