Tasman Valley is located within Mount Cook National Park on the South Island of New Zealand. The valley is not only home to Tasman Glacier, the longest glacier in New Zealand, but also to Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest mountain. Tasman Glacier is 27 kilometres long and Mount Cook 3.724 metres high. Of New Zealand’s 20 highest peaks all but Mount Aspiring lie within Mount Cook National Park. The waters of Tasman Glacier flow into Lake Tasman. From there Tasman River continues to Lake Pukaki.
