Lake Titicaca is located in the Andes on the border of Bolivia and Peru. Till today it’s not really known where the lake has its name from. However, Lake Titicaca has several islands and is the largest in South America. With a surface elevation of 3.812 metres it’s located higher than most countries highest summit.
